The Ethiopian Samuel Getachew received the William P. Hubbard award for race relations. In an emotional speech, he expressed his sadness for Ethiopians killed and mistreated in Saudi Arabia. He retreated his commitment to pursue his dream of naming Danforth and Greenwood area of Toronto city after his country Ethiopia as “Little Ethiopia.”
In an exclusive interview with www.ethiofidel.com, Samuel stressed the need to get united and get involved in Canadian civic and political system by young Canadians. Samuel has been known as a committed volunteer community activist and a journalist for TZTA, Next generation, and the Huffington post. He is board member for Africans in Partnership against AIDS (APAA) and receives several other awards.
