Coffee Expo Seoul, taking place from 10 – 13 April, announced that Ethiopia has been selected as the exhibition’s official Guest Country.
Alongside the hundreds of modern-day coffee-themed products, the lively Ethiopian pavilion will allow guests to discover more about the origins of coffee. A variety of green and roasted coffee beans sourced from Ethiopia will be available for tasting and sourcing, while visitors may also participate in a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony.Organisers also announced that an exclusive ‘Mint Label’ zone within the exhibition will give select domestic and overseas businesses the opportunity to promote new and innovative products expected to see growth in the upcoming year. In 2013 the
Mint Label zone included a hand-crafted, traditional Korean-themed coffee press, contemporary-designed drip coffee maker, a range of newly-released coffee machines, as well as frozen drinks and the ever-popular bubble tea.
Korea relies almost entirely on coffee imports from around the world to fuel its sky-rocketing coffee culture. Coffee Expo Seoul provides a platform for both domestic and overseas businesses to forge business and trade partnerships.
Coffee Expo Seoul is organised by one of Korea’s leading convention and exhibition center, Coex, and welcomed over 36,000 visitors and 340 exhibition booths in 2013. The tradeshow expects substantial expansion over the next few years as Seoul continues to firmly establish itself as one of the world’s coffee-drinking capitals.
