The well known philantriopohist and movie actor Karlheinz Böhm died at age 86.
A post at the website of his organization menschen fur menschen states “We are deeply saddened to announce that Karlheinz Bohm founder of Menschen Fur Menschen foundation passed away amongst his family at home May 29th after a prolonged period of illness”
“Ethiopia is my home“ he was once quoted as saying when he received his honorary Ethiopian citizenship. Ethiopia also named a street after him .
Karlheinz Böhm was the founder of the organization called Menschen Fur Menschen (Humans for Humans) in Ethiopia and have been doing charitable and development projects in Ethiopia since 1981
He performed in several of the Hollywood movies where he excelled in many of his roles .
Abandoning the film Industry at some point, Karlheinz Böhm fall in love with Ethiopia and started to live with his wife Almaz in Ethiopia where he founded and chaired Menschen Fur Menschen
Karlheinz Böhm is survived by his wife and seven children.
