The Ethiopian origin Canadian youth, Hannah Godefa , has been re appointed as a goodwill ambassador to UNICEF Ethiopia.
The Vaughn- Ontario resident and a Canadian from Ethiopian parents, Hanna, is best known for her humanitarian activism around women and children in her native country Ethiopia.
The UNICEF Ethiopia Officer in charge, Patrizia Di Giovani acclaimed Hanna’s activism the last two years with UNICEF and called her “a role model for others and a testimony to what is possible if one is determined”
According to UNICEF Ethiopia’s news release, Hanna’s participation at the world Economic forum was appreciated at the occasion.
“I was beyond honored to renew my contract as a UNICEF National Ambassador! This platform has allowed me to advocate for children and bring important issues to international agendas.” Hanna posted on her Facebook page.
The 18 years old Hanna initiated the “Pencil project “through which she collected more than half a million pencils and sent back to Ethiopia
She is the youngest recipient of Queen Elizabeth second’s Diamond Jubilee Award in Ontario.
