Ethiopia was at the center of Black History month in downtown Toronto
Local Ethiopian-Canadian artist Rasselas was the featured artist at the downtown Toronto public library. The Black history event also featured an array of Ethiopian dancers including Rebecca of Seb Seb Belu.
Rasselas whose most recent album – Injera music- was released late last year preformed three songs .
The sold-out crowd responded well to his sound that is a modern mixure of traditional Ethiopian sound with a modern western music touch.
Other performers included from Africa, the Caribbean and Nova Scotia.
Since 1995 – February has been marked as Black History Month.
