The Ethiopian movie- “Difret “will be screened in Toronto coming November.The down town -Toronto movie theatre, Carleton Cinema will screen Difret among other movies in November .
The movie is about how a teen ( Hirut ) braved kidnapping and how a tenacious young lawyer defended her . The story setting was established three hours outside of Addis Ababa, with a bright 14-year-old girl facing kidnaping on her way home from school.The first screening of the movie at Carlton Cinema is set to be November 6th.

The movie was written and directed by Ethiopian-born writer/director Zeresenay Berhane
The Director Zeresenay Berhane Mehari is a writer/director with more than a decade of experience making films. Born and raised in Ethiopia, Mehari moved to the U.S. to attend film school. He founded Haile Addis Pictures to produce his first narrative feature film, Difret. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts
