The Okavango African Orchestra won the Juno Awards
The group recieves rheir World Music Album of the year award at the dazzling Juno Awards in Otawwa.
The group was thrilled to recieve the award sponsores by Canada Council for the Arts .
The Okavango album presented unique sounds of eight accomplished artists from all over Africa coordinated by the long time promoter of African Music Nadine Macnulty .
The orchestra takes its name from the
Okavango Delta basin in the Kalahari Desert in Botswana,where many different animal species come together to feed and find water.
The Eritrean singer Daniel Nebiat brought the traditional string instrument , “Kirar” in to the orchestra .
