International Development week Celebrated in Toronto .
A new decade of action started for international development organizations aiming at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.(SDGs).
At an event organized by 5 Canadian International organizations at the Center for Social Innovation, a panel of 5 agreed that partnership is key to achieving the SDGs .
This year’s theme of the International Develooment week was ” Go for The Goals”. And according to Cuso International’s outreach and partnership officer Tina Sweeney, bilateralism should remain a priority.
IDRF,Cuso International, Canad feed the Children, Crossroads International, world Renew and Oiko credit Canada reflected on the impacts of their development work across the globe .
From an education program in Pakistan to a strong anti sexual violence project in Peru, the organizations showcased their impactful involvement.
Director General Engaging Canadians, Marianick Tremblay and Kimberly Gibbons the Executive Director of Ocic echoed the development workers about the importance of partnership.
They reiterated Canada’s commitmemt to International Development.
148 events are currently happening around Canada celebrating the International Development week .
Canada provided up to $59.8 million in funding over 13 years starting in 2018-2019, for programming to support Canada’s implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of 2030.
