The mayor of Toronto, John Tory extends his best wishes to those who celebrate Orthodox Easter.
On a video message, Mayor Tory said Easter is the most important holiday in Christianity and symbolizes hope. He said the city also needs renewal of hope amid the COVID-19 crisis. Renewal of hope for individuals, for communities and for businesses.
The mayor encourages families to celebrate the holiday separately in their own home to help stop the spread of COVID-19 .
He appreciated the efforts by faith groups to stop the spread of the virus by making their services virtual.
Tory said Torontonians are strong and he hopes that everybody do their part to flatten the curve.
