Canada approves the first HIV self test in Canada . That means as of now people can take the HIV test themselves from a self testing kit . The test will require a one-minute finger-prick blood test.

CBC reported that Public Health Agency of Canada provides a license for the bioLytical Laboratories for distributing the self test kits of HIV blood test that provides results in just one minute.
A Canadian scientist Sean Rouke from the Toronto ….. said that despite the medical advancemes Canada’s HIV infection rate has been rising and most importantly , many people living with HIV do not know about it .
The introduction of self testing for HIV is believed to reduce the barriers for many to get tested for HIV and know their status
