Mass vaccination clinics relaunched and more pop-up, mobile sites coming
Beginning the week of May 3, all Scarborough COVID-19 vaccination clinics will be operational.
Based on the increased vaccine allocations expected in May, the province will increase the supply of COVID-19 vaccines to hot spot communities. During the weeks of May 3 and May 10, 50 per cent of the province’s vaccine allocations will be allocated to hot spots communities in 13 public health regions across the province, including 15 postal codes in Scarborough.
Ramping up vaccination in one of Ontario’s hardest hit communities will ensure vaccines are targeted to those who are at greatest risk.
Through its joint partnership, and with the relentless advocacy of Scarborough’s provincial representatives, Scarborough Health Network (“SHN”) and its partners will operate three community clinics at TAIBU, CareFirst and ‘The Hub’ by Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities.
They will also relaunch their mass vaccination clinics at Centennial College and Centenary Hospital. This is on top of upcoming pop-ups across Scarborough hot spots and the continuation of mobile vaccination teams into congregate care and homeless settings.
While a limited and unreliable supply of vaccines has impacted communities across Ontario in recent weeks, the province is committed to ensuring Ontario’s vaccine rollout continues to focus on supporting the communities hardest hit by COVID-19.
