TORONTO ― Today, Premier Doug Ford issued the following statement to mark the beginning of Eid al-Adha
“At sunset tonight, Muslims in Ontario and around the world will gather to pray and celebrate the festival of Eid al-Adha. This annual holiday is one of the most important occasions in the Islamic calendar, honouring the willingness of the prophet Ibrahim to make a sacrifice to God.
Eid al-Adha is celebrated with acts of generosity and the sharing of a great feast with family, friends and those in need. It’s also a time for forgiveness, compassion and self-reflection.
On behalf of all Ontarians, I wish all who celebrate a blessed Eid al-Adha filled with happiness and delight.
Eid mubarak!”
