Mulnorey who died at 84 is most popular for his role in introducibg free trade between Canada and United States . In later years , the deal included Mexico to become the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). His political career jas also been marked by his intiative to introduce the goods and services tax (GST) and the privatization of 23 Crown corporations such as Air Canada and peteo Canada.
Mulnorey led Canada from 1984 to 1993 as the country’s 18th prime minister .According to his daughter caroline Mulnorey died peacefully surrounded by family.

In his remarks of condolences , Canada’s prime minister Justin Trudeau rememberd Mulnorey as a visonary leader who helped Canada to be modern, prosperous and dynamic .
Mulnorey’s career was also marred by some controversial decisions and allegations .After he left offive, Mulnorey was accused of accepting bribe from a German company which he denied and later admitted to taking payememts but not to any illegal acts . He called his action “the bigest mistake.”
