Ethio-Can Bridge The Gap is proud to announce our upcoming Community Health and Wellness Fair, scheduled for March 16th, 2024. This event coincides with the spirit and objectives of Black Mental Health Week, observed from March 4th to March 10th, 2024, highlighting the critical importance of awareness, access to information, and health screening in nurturing both physical and mental well-being.
Black Mental Health Week aims to raise awareness about the unique mental health challenges faced by Black individuals and communities. It serves as a platform to facilitate open conversations, dismantle stigmas, and promote resources for mental health support and education.
In partnership with TAIBU Community Health Centre and the Ethiopian Canadian Physicians Association, our Community Health and Wellness Fair is dedicated to amplifying these efforts by providing a comprehensive array of resources, activities, and services designed to support individuals on their journey toward optimal health.
We are delighted to feature live entertainment by comedian Meskerem Bekele, whose unique humor promises to uplift spirits and remind us of the power of laughter in promoting overall well-being.
Additionally, we are thrilled to introduce the “Through My Eyes” Storytelling Art Project, where attendees can experience the moving narratives of Ethiopian individuals who emigrated to Canada during the Red Terror era. Through audio-visual narratives, as told by their children, attendees will gain insight into their journey of displacement, resilience, and adaptation in a foreign land.
Join us on March 16th, 2024, from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM at 720 Bathurst Street, Toronto. In addition to the live entertainment and interactive exhibits, attendees will have access to:
- Free Health Screening 🩺
- Mental Health Workshop ðŸ§
- Healthy Lunch & Refreshments 🥗🥤
Admission is free, and all are welcome.
