YOUNG DIPLOMATS (YD) ORGANIZES AN IMPORTANT COMMUNITY EVENT
Toronto’s only Ethiopian-Canadian youth organization – Young Diplomats A K A Young Dips (YD) – is hosting a must attend parent – youth panel discussion this coming Saturday on July 26th between 6 PM – 10 P
The event will be held in downtown Toronto at the University of Toronto’s OISE auditorium located at 252 Bloor Street West conveniently located next to St. George Subway station.
According to Executive Director Saron Markos, the forum “aims to be a link for better communication between parents and young adults”. The panel discussion will consist of many important actors in the community with the youth taking charge and being at a center stage. For Markos, it’s important to open dialogue and utilize the potential of the Ethiopian-Canadian youth and “create a space for openness, understanding and inter-generational dialogue”.
The group urges parents and in particularly the youth to join this discussion and share their thoughts on how to better strengthen ties in the community in order to produce a happy and productive citizenry.
Young Diplomats (YD) is a youth-led not-for-profit organization that is committed to empowering Ethiopian-Canadian youth through education, health, culture, Diaspora networks, capacity building, community and sense of belonging.
