Unified voice – Home to a diverse Eritrean and Ethiopian-Canadian population, Toronto was once again host to a well attended memorial service for the victims of the latest atrocities of ISIS in Libya.
Hundreds came out to voice their concerns and sadness in a unified voice at Dundas Square on the killings of Ethiopian and Eritrean Christians in Libya. “Stop ISIS from killing our people ” chanted the attendants.
Many circled around the square, lit candles and invited the wider communities to join them in endorsing the end of the brutal abuse of migrants in many parts of the world, including in Yemen, Libya and South Africa.
Faith leaders, activists the youth and community leaders urged their fellow community members to do their part in making their issues heard in Canada and they strongly demanded justice.
At the event Organized by the Ethiopian Association in the GTA, a candle light was lit, prayers were offered to the departed and a petition to help refugees was widely circulated.
