Ontario’s Premier Slams Businesses for Price Jack up

The Premier of Ontario Doug Ford criticizes businesses that raise prices following the COVID-19 Epidemic. Ford’s comments came after a social media thread showing a store in Toronto selling a container of of Lysol wipes for $30.

The premier was quoted by CP24 as saying ” I have zero, zero tolerance for price gouging. I’m calling them out. Pusateri’s, I hear they are selling hand wipes for $30 a tin. That is disgusting,”

Premier Ford announced that he has a plan to come after businesses that increase prices on essential commodities taking advantage of the COVID-19 situation.

He said this is un-Canadian to raise the price at this moment when people are in desperate need of these cleaning items.

The store, Pusateri’s later apologized saying it was a mistake and promised to give full refund to those who purchased the Lysol for $30.
