Internationally acclaimed award winning artist Abel Tesfaye – The Weeknd wins International Solo Artist of the year at the Britt Award .
The BRIT awarded The Weeknd the best male solo artist of 2021.

ሽልማቱን በተመለከተ የተናገረው ኣቤል ተስፋዬ የብሪታኒያ የሙዚቃ ኣፍቃሪዎቹን ኣመስግኗል።

A surprise guest of the award who joined the ceremony virtually, Michelle Obama praised Abel Tesfaye for his epic performance at the Super Bowl earlier this year. Michelle Obama was equally impressed by the Weeknd’s philanthropic donations for causes such as COVID-19, Black Lives Matter and for those displaced by violence in Ethiopia. She recalled that he has funded assistance for survivors of explosion in Lebanon.
” In a tough year , he provided a light that’s pretty blinding and given us all the reason to dance. I am proud to announce the winner of international male Solo artist is the Weekend congratulations” says Michelle .
In a remotely recorded acceptance speech , the weekend thanked lovers of his music in the UK.
” I want to shout out to my UK fans for helping me break out in to the world if it wasn’t for you guys , I would not be standing here right now so thank you . I love You ” says the weekend.
He also addressed the people of his native country Ethiopia saying ” To my people in Ethiopia who are suffering, you are deep in my heart. For every one watching, please help where you can. Thank you .” says Abel Tesfaye- The weeknd.
