Ethiopian parliament sworn in Dr.Abiy Ahmed as the Prime Minister of the country for the coming five years .

Abiy Ahmed was selected by Prosperity party that won majority of the seats in the federal Parliament

Abiy’s Prosperity Party was declared the winner of parliamentary elections this year.

Resolving the conflict in Tigray Region , Peace and security and poverty reduction are expected to be crucial agendas for the new government formed .

The prime Minister included major opposition leaders in his cabinet notably, the opposition leaders and economist Dr. Birhanu Nega has been appointed as minister of Education .

Abiy took the oath of office, administered by Supreme Court Chief Justice Meaza Ashenafi.
