The long time community servant Dr. Gezahegn Wordofa ( Geza ) has been elected as a councillor in the cirty of Strattford in Ontarion , Canada .
የረዥም ጊዜ የማህበረሰብ አገልጋይ የሆኑት ዶ/ር ገዛኸኝ ወርዶፋ በኦንታርዮ ካናዳ በስትራትፎርድ ከተማ የምክር ቤት አባል ሆነው ተመርጠዋል።ዶ/ር ገዛኸኝን ለዓመታት ባከናወኑት የማህበረሰብ አገልግሎት የሚያውቋቸው የማህበረሰብ አባላት ትክክለኛ ሰው ለትክክለኛ ስራ ተመረጡ ሲሉ አስተያየታቸውን በሶሻል ሚዲያ አስፍረዋል።
ዶ/ር ገዛኸኝ አዲስ መጭዎችን እና አቅመ ደካሞችን ያለ እረፍት ሲያገለግሉ በነበሩባት ስትራትፎርድ ውስጥ ነው የከተማ ምክር ቤት አባል ሆነው የተመረጡት። ኦርደር ኦፍ ካናዳ የተሰኘውን ሽልማት፡ በ በካናዳ ምርጥ 25 አዲስ መጦች እና የቢቂላ ሽልማቶችን ተቀብለዋል
“It is a well deserving win ” was the most common reaction from the many community members that have known Gezahegn for years of his community services .
Geza, became the first ever Ethiopian to be elected as a city councilor in Stratford , the city where he has been relentlessly serving newcomers and the underprivileged .
Through the organization he founded and lead, Multicultural Association Perth-Huron, Geza has been providing essential services to Newcomers to Canada.
He received several awards including the Order of Canada , top 25 immigrants in Canada and the Bikilla Award .
