Haddis Nigat Arts Forum of Toronto held its forum on June 08, 2014 at the office of the Ethiopian Association in Toronto and the GTA. The Forum, at which members recite poetry, perform plays and music is open to everyone and takes place once every two months. Haddis Nigat has staged a number of public events and shows since its establishment in 2003.
Asked about yesterday’s gathering byhttps://ethiofidel.com/, Bayu Kidane, the forum’s current president said “it was one of the most memorable evenings.” Ato Assefa W/Rufael hosted yesterday’s event and members presented original artistic creations as well as works by others. Petros Dejene –on the Kirar and Fasil vocally entertained the group. Members also watched a video of Laureate Tsegaye Geberemedhin’s most famous plays – Tewodros, Ha-Hu Besidist Wer, Otherllo and Enat Alem Tenu performed by some of the most famous Ethiopian actors such as Fekadu Teklemariam, Getachew Debalqe, Abebe Balcha and Meseret Mebrate.
