Ethiopian director zeresenay Mehari presenting his new movie Sweetness in the Belly at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) .
The movie is based on the novel written by the Canadian author Camilla Gibb.
Sweetness in the Belly drew media attention this week after movie lovers and industry professionals raised concern as to why Dakota fanning a white actress play a character of an Ethiopian girl. Dakota later on came on to her defence and explained she is playing a British girl who was orphaned in Ethiopia.
Sweetness in the Belly will be screened at TIFF 2019 today September 07 at 6 PM and on Monday September 09 at 4:15 pm at Scotia Bank Theater.
Yahya Abdul, Kunal Nayar, yohanna Ephrem , Henok Berihanu and others played in the movie .
