St. Valentines was believed to be a priest who helped Christian couples get married underground for fear of persecutions from Roman Empire . The king of Roman Empire by then ordered that the priest Valentines should be beheaded. He was executed on February 14 in 270 AD.
St. Valentines has been celebrated as s ymbol of love . In recent days , the day is celebrated in a more secular fashion with a commercialized vibe . Accoring to the National Retail Federation Americans Americans Spent $21.8 Billon On Valentine’s day in 2021.
