Canadian City Barrie Proclaimed September 11 Ethiopian New Year

The city council for Barrie in Ontario Canada announced the proclamation of September 11 as the Ethiopian New year .

የካናዳዋ ቤሪ ከተማ ሴፕተምበር 11 በየአመቱ የ ኢትዮጵያ ቀን ተብሎ እንዲከበር ወሰነች

የከተማዋ ከንቲባ አሌክስ ኑታል የኢትዬጽያ ቀን መከበሩ የ ከተማዋ ነዋሪ በአንድ እንዲሰበሰብ እና የኢትዮጵያን ባህል እንዲያውቅ ይረዳል ብለዋል። መልካም የኢትዮጵያውያን አዲስ አመት ይሁንላቸሁ ሲሉም ተመኝተዋል፡፡

በቅርቡ ኢትዬጽያዊዉ አቶ ንጉሴ አዳም የ ቤሪ ከተማ ምክር ቤት ኣባል ሆነው መመረጣቸው ይታወሳል ። ቤሪ ከተማ ከ ቶሮንቶ በ 110 ኪሜ ላይ የምትገኝ ከተማ ናት።

In a statement posted on the city’s website, the Mayor of Barrie , Alex Nuttall remarked that Ethiopian new year could be an occasion for all residents in the city to come together and learn Ethiopia’s rich culture.

He also reiterates Barrie’s commitment to diversity while wishing every one a Happy Ethiopian New year .

In the recent election , Ethiopian Canadian Nigussie Adamu was elected as a Councilor for the city of Barrie. Barrie is a city 110 Km outside of Toronto.
