የ ኦሮሞ ሚዲያ ኔትወርክ ባለቤት እና ስራ ኣስኪያጅ ጃዋር ሞሃመድ ጋር በ መድረክ በመገናኘትም ከ ዳያስፖራ ጋር የነበረውን ልዩነት ወ ደ ቀጣይ ደረጃ የሚያሽጋግር ተግባር ከውነዋል::
The reformist prime minister of Ethiopia, Dr. Abiy Ahmed intensified his call to the diaspora community of Ethiopians in the US . In his remark in front of thousands of Ethiopians in DC, The Prime Minister extended his invitation for Ethiopians living in the US to support the reform in the country. Repeating his earlier appeal for “a dollar a day” from his citizens, Abiy said Ethiopians in the diaspora are welcome to come home and contribute their skills and knowledge .
Prime Minster Abiy also said , all should work together to destroy hatred, vengeance ,and conflict in the country .
Prime minister Abiy’s messages were warmly welcomed by the large gathering of Ethiopians followed by applause after each paragraph . Abiy has been reflecting on the reforms in Ethiopia during his visit to the states with in the Ethiopian community in the US .
An invitation extended by the prime minster brought a long time Ethiopian activist Tamagn Beyene to the stage . Emotions run high when Tamagn and Dr Abiy hugged. In his passionate speech, artist Tamagn Beyene pledged his full support in coordination fund raising support for the country’s reforms .
Flanked by the President of the Oromia Regional state in Ethiopia, Lemma Megersa, Prime minster Abiy showed a remarkable presence at a gathering in Minnesota. Both the Prime Minister and Mr. Lemma emphasized the need for Ethiopians to be united . The long time Ethiopian political activist and president of the Oromo Media Network, Jawar Mohammed came on stage and called on the public to work along side the new leadership in Ethiopia to strengthen the opportunity for peace and democracy in Ethiopia.
In his continued visit to the states , Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed met with the vice president of the United states Mike Pence. Pence appreciated Abiy’s reforms with in few months of assuming office. Reuters reported that the US administration is impressed by the historic reforms of Dr. Abiy including his efforts to make peace with Eritrea.
The prime minister appeared in several meetings including the Badir International Peace Conference by Ethiopian Muslims, The reconciliation conference of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and the meeting with Ethiopian opposition.
He remarked that he is deeply saddened by the death of the chief engineer of the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, Simegnew affirming his stance that the dam will be completed.
Washington DC is the largest Ethiopian populated city in North America where hundreds of thousands of Ethiopians reside .
The remarkable event at Washington DC Convention Center was shared live by several media outlets. Prime Minister Abiy was accompanied by his wife whom he called a hero the president of the Oromia Regional State Lemma Megerssa and other officials .
