Ethiopia’s Grand Renaissance Dam has started generating power.
Inaugurated by Prime minister of Ethiopia Abiy Ahmed, the dam built on Blue Nile started generating power.
የታላቁ የኢትዮጵያ ህዳሴ ግድብ ኃይል መስጠት ጀምሯል።ግድቡ ኃይል ማመንጨት የጀመረው ካሉት 13 ተርባይኖች ውስጥ በአንዱ ተርባይን አማካኝነት ነው።
አንዱን ተርንባይን በመጠቀም ወደ ስራ የገባው ግድቡ 375 ሜጋ ዋት ኃይል የማመንጨት አቅም እንዳለው ተገልጿል።

One of the 13 turbines started to release power on Sunday to the excitement of Ethiopians at home and in the diaspora.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed recognized previous Ethiopian leaders, the former head of the project, Simegnew Bekele and all employees of the dam for their contribution. “There will be nothing that will stop us from now on “Abiy said.
In its full capacity, the dam will generate 6,500 megawatts and is Africa’s largest dam. The Ethiopian government has been expressing its plans to export power to other African nations. Ethiopians paid for the full construction of the Renaissance dam project.
Egypt and Sudan has been voicing concerns that the construction of the dam will reduce the water flow to them.
Ethiopian prime minister reiterated that Ethiopia has no intention of harming any one.
