Friends and family of Tesfaye Kassa (Tarzan), an Ethiopian Canadian who was fatally stabbed last week in Toronto , held a candlelight vigil in his memory on Sunday evening.
ባለፈው ሳምንት ቶሮንቶ ውስጥ ህይወቱ ላለፈው ኢትዮጵያዊው ተስፋዬ ካሳ የሻማ ማብራት ስነስርአት ተካሄደ ፡፡ የተስፋዬ ወዳጆች እና የማህበረሰብ አባላት በተገኙበት የሻማ ማብራት ፕሮግራም ላይ ተስፋዬን የሚዘክሩ ንግግሮች ተደርገዋል ፡፡
የቶሮንቶ የህግ ባለሙያ አቶ ሳህሉ በቀለ ስለ ተስፋዬ ሲናገሩ “ጥሩ ኢትዮጵያዊ ጥሩ አፍሪካዊ እና ጥሩ ወንድም ነበር በሚያሳዝን ሁኔታ ለዘላለም አጥተነዋል ” ብለዋል ፡፡
በወላጅ እናቱ ፍላጎት መሰረት የ ቀብር ስርአቱን በ ኢትዮጵያ ለማድረግ በተከፈተው ጎ ፈንድ ሚ አካውንት እና በየሬስቶራንቱ በተቀመጡ የ እርዳታ መሰብሰቢያ ሳጥኖች እርዳታችሁን አድርጉ ሲሉም ጠይቀዋል
The vigil at Allan Gardens Park was packed with emotions and served to remember Tesfaye as a person who gave himself to others .
Community members who reflected on Tesfaye’s legacy described him as one who cared much for his family, community and home country .” He was a good Ethiopian, good African, good brother with a good heart . We lost him forever” says Sahlu Bekele, a member of the Ethiopian community .
The 46 years old Tesfaye Was the father of an 18 years old daughter .
Toronto police is still investigating the case . Tesfaye is the 53rd homicide victim in Toronto this year .
