He was once elected the Mayor of Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa. The prominent opposition figure in Ethiopia, Dr. Berhanu Nega returned home after years of exile. Berhanu received a heroic welcome at the Addis Ababa stadium by city residents that fill the stadium with a tricolor Ethiopian flag .
Dr. Berhanu Nega is the leader of the main opposition party in Ethiopia , Ginbot 7 (Famously known as G7). Following the call by the current Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed, major opposition party leaders returned home.
In his speech which was hugely applauded by the full house stadium supporters, Dr. Berhanu Nega called on all parties to work together to take the country out of the misery. He thanked all those who paid the sacrifice for the change happening in the country.
